Tallangatta is in a valley surrounded by beautifully sculptured hills, this is the scene that is set as you approach the Tallangatta township. Built in the 1950’s, the new town was the replacement for the “Old Tallangatta” which was flooded when the Hume dam was raised to allow more water storage for irrigators south along the Murray River
Tallangatta is very unique with pleasant parkland in the towns centre making it very inviting to visitors. The town’s people are very proud of Tallangatta’s history which is demonstrated throughout the town with museums, gift shops and much more.
The district is a Mecca for photographers with charming lowlands and mountain scenery. The town is central to many attractions with beautiful winding roads revealing magnificent view
